A pic of their growth (aquatic on the top, terrestrial on the bottom)

The two aquatics are a solid 7.5 cm, while the terrestrial and semi-terrestrial ones are only 6.5 cm.

The latest version of their setup. Water is approximately 13cm deep, with a platform (which is level with water) covered in rocks, and a upended flower pot, also level with water, also with rocks. Both having plants which hang over.

PS: the tank is seriously not as dirty as it looks. Next time I'll clean BEFORE taking the pics

very cool, you can really see the difference between the tails

Wauw, techno newts! I just see a new way of re- using my old lego stones I used to play with as a child! You see, it is not what you use but how they use it what defines your set up...

Colin, there's a previous thread with some really nice pics of their tails in this section. Go look for it :D

Serge, this came about because I cant afford all that 'fancy' store-bought stuff like the floating docks and caves and such. So I had to be innovative and make due with what I have. This is free and its versatile. And it works really well.

Kaysie,

The kids aren't going to have anything to play with once you have finished nicking all the toys!! lol

found it, must have been when i was on hols

So how many went each way?

I've got 2 aquatic, one semi-aquatic, and one terrestrial.

JP you sound like my mother. lol. thats exactly what she said.

Kaysie or Jen,
About how old are these guys? When did they hatch?

Kaysie's karelinii were hatched in spring of this year. Unfortunately, I don't have it exactly, but probably some time between March and May.

Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!
