Hello everyone!
I am new to this forum. I got Fig in Feb. 2020 and was told he was 1yr old at the time. I recently was out of town, visiting family for the holidays and has a friend stopping by to feed him. When I returned home last night, I noticed that his cloaca was very swollen and wrinkly. I have never noticed this before, so I was immediately alarmed! I did quite a bit of googling, but couldn’t find any mentions of a condition like this. My only thought was, maybe he is reaching sexual maturity? I did read that their toes will turn black when this happens and you can see that the tip of some of his toes is a little black. I can’t recall if it was this way before I left for the holiday or not. I have not checked water parameters since before I left, but they usually stay pretty stable. He looks healthy otherwise (at least in my humble opinion ), his gills are big and full of blood, good weight, tail tip isn’t curving, etc. Does anyone know what is going on here? Thanks in advance!
