Where'd you get em from? I need to find a nice place to get plants, but it seems most for sale are sooo tiny, The bigger the better I say. (pm might be preferred)

Ah, I don't know of any pet shops that sell reliable plants.

Hi,

Shizeric- I think if you using real plants they will grow. It was just the other night i was looking at the plants that i had bought and it seems they are now growing roots. My thinking is if they can grow roots they should be able to grow as long as they have the right amount of nutrients and sunlight.

In Australia most petshops and Aquariums have some sort of plant range, not all of them are good though.

Yes, you have to watch out for dodgy ones sometimes indeed kayla!!

I know this pet shop (been their main money source for 2009 probably LOL) and know they wouldn't order something in unless they new everything about it! I havn't heard of the two big plants I have in there and don't even know what they are called, but if they survive and grow! they are fine haha. I especially love the one on the left which has pink on it =]

Yes i agree i like having the extra bit of colour.

One of my plants, cant remember the name, has purply undersides to the leaves.

This is the one that seems to be growing the roots.

I just ordered an enormous java fern...I'll post some pics when it arrives . I hope your moss attachs itself and spreads...it would look great on that tank ornament.

so it is good to use real plants with axies? i was a little weary since i bought a ton of real plants for my goldfish and they ate them.

Yes, as long as the plants are not potentially harmful to the axies, then they are fine to have in the tank together. If you are unsure of the plant's compatibility, you can check on the axolotl website linked above to find a fantastic list of acceptable plants.

Those two big ones probably arn't compatable, but they are working hahaha

Yes, I think the moss will look amazing on the ornament!!! Sunnys doesn't think so though.... haha
