I noticed today while cleaning my tank that Loki has some stuff in his gills. I’ve been moving stuff around in the tank lately and added an airstone. It’s the best his gills have ever looked but there seems to be stuff caught up in them. I’m wondering if it’s just vegetation/ sand or something worse like necrosis. I tried to handle him as minimally as possibly but I was able to snap some pics.
It does not look anything like the “cotton” looking fungus. No gill curling or signs of stress. It almost looks like… boogers.
My tank parameters all within the ranges (0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 15 nitrate) and temp is 61F.
How can I remove it without hurting him?
