Strange off-topic question

I know this might not be the right site, but our trees are dying. They all have these strange yellow spots on them and I was wondering if anyone knew of any fungus or something that kills trees.

You'd have much better luck with an arborist, asking your department of natural resources or local tree nursery. The big tree diseases I know of are Dutch Elm Disease and emerald ash borers. The former is a fungal disease transmitted by insects and the latter is an insect that just decimates ash tree populations.

But there are quite a few tree diseases out there and many of them are caused by fungus. There is also know saying if the fungus is causal to the tree's deaths.

You might have luck taking a sample to your local Cooperative Extension Office. If you are not familiar with them, there is usually a listing in your local phone book. They have always been quite helpful to me where ever I've lived, and are usually very knowledgeable about whatever diseases might be striking your local flora. They can also prove an invaluable resource for suggestions in treatment.

Well, different species of trees can be affected by different species of fungi. Do you know what sort of trees you have? Often if you know the tree and with some creative Googling you can figure out what are some common diseases. Of course there are several other factors to consider, including where you live, how old the trees are and a number of other environmental factors. Best of luck to you.

I live just north of Little Rock (AR) and there are a couple of ash trees out back and a white poplar and a sycamore.
