Has anyone used milk jugs to store pond water for salamander larvae? I have some coming in the mail soon, so I just want to be able to pour it in right when I get them. The reason is that I dont have an exact date that they will be here. And for partial water changes every day. Thanks

IMHO, I don't see any issue with it. I don't know how long the beneficial micro-fauna would survive in there though.

I use gallon milk jugs to store my tap-water until I use it; since I have to add dechlorinator, I do it in them and they sit for a few days until I use them. I've never had a problem (except for when they develop leaks...)

I store my pond water in milk jugs as well, but I have noticed after about 8 or 9 days the micro fauna starts to die off.
