I fear that my gold and leucistic are going to breed because my leucistic's cloaca has been swollen lately. I can't raise the eggs right now because I still have larvae from last months breeding. I would like to raise the eggs, but not until I have sold a significant amount of the larvae. It will be a couple months until that will happen. All the larvae have full front arms and I can see leg stumps on most of the larvae. What I would like to know is if I could put the eggs in a tub of water and put them in the fridge and stop development for a while. Also how long will it be until they hatch if I fridge them immediately. Or will it kill the eggs.

Thanks

Evan

Fridging them will slow their development, not stop it altogether.

To prevent unwanted breedings, separate your axolotls.

Maybe advertise on here now for free eggs

Given the number of people looking for eggs you would have no problem getting rid of the eggs.

I started with one lone Axolotl, till I got eggs from someone :D. Now I have a tank of breeding adults, a tank of adults I'm selling, another tank and tub of juvies, and two tubs of eggs I'm hatching from my melanoid.

Separate them to stop the breeding but to also give your female a break from egg laying.

Good luck.

Ok, will do. I will make sure it is the leucistic that is the dad next year. I hope I get another odd ball. I also hope to upgrade my three from a 20g to a 40g tanks. Thanks for the help.
