Hey all,
I'm currently doing some work on declining southern duskies in southeast Georgia. Unfortunately, we haven't found any duskies during our surveying thusfar, but we have found some other things like sirens, muds, and dwarfs. My question is about distinguishing between dwarfs and stereochilus. I know that seems like a silly question, but accounts on stereochilus are not particularly detailed. Does anyone here have any experience with stereochilus that would be willing to share some info and/or photos to help with identification? Feel free to PM me! Also, Petranka accounts say there isn't any sexual size dimorphism, but doesn't mention whether there could be other sexual dimorphisms... Anyone know anything more on the topic?

We saw some Stereochilus (larvae and adults) in North Carolina. First, they have of course four limbs, by contrast with sirens. Larvae can become big (5-6 cm). Mating is occuring in autumn. Eggs in females are obvious. Head of males is bigger, and they seem to be smaller with longer legs.
