This is Stella's new friend, Martini.

She's very cute don't you think?

She's been quite active since I brought her home last night, and she's eaten 2 earthworms and has been to the bathroom too - seems like she's settling in quite comfortably!

What colour would you describe her as? - leucistic i'm guessing, but she's not albino, as her eyes are blue/black, and you can't see it in the pic but she has very faint freckles on her face and tail.

She's got a little cut in her tail, I think she may have scratched it on something in the lfs, or maybe another axie tried to have her for lunch!

I have put some stress coat in, do you think I should give her a salt bath, or will it heal over itself?

I can't wait to introduce her to Stella!

i would say that is leucistic as well. Thats really cool that you got Stella a new friend. The cut will probably heal on its own as its not major from what i see.

She's lovely! i love the freckles axies get, they are so cute. I also like your name choice

definatly a leucy. i see on her front left foot shes growing two toes on one!! awesome!

OMG Sharn!

I was just about to write - no I think she must have her foot on a grain of sand and it just looks like that, but I checked, and she is growing two toes! how cool! I didn't even notice.

WOW! I've got a really unique axie!

Jon - thanks for the warning, if I go to the UK and I get into a conversation about pets I'll make sure I tell them my axolotls names are Mary and Anne! hahaha!

MIne had a nick out of his tail when I was given him. LFS to blame I'd say. Only had him almost 4 weeks, but hasn't proved any problems yet....

nice looking axie, looks healthy

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
