Started Newt/Salamanders?

I have a 4 gallon and would like to make it a Newt/or salamander tank ...any ideas for starter newts or salamaders that i could keep in a 4 gallon?
How to set up the tank ect ect would help alot thanks!
 
four gallons is tiny, i would up the size a bit before considering keeping anything. ten gallons would be good to start of with then you could consider triturus, cynops or notophthalmus.


on second thoughts are you sure it's 4 gallons?

I didn't know they made aquariums that small, that's seems like a large tupper ware container.
 
??? Nah there loads of sizes of "tanks" it's a 5 gallon i checked... could i keep a pair of chinese fire bellied salamanders? (i think thats what there called)
 
Really? is there anything i could keep in a 5 gallon?I have 1 adf in there... hmmm
maby i could set up a new 10 gallon but im not so sure i already have enough big tanks out now lol
I live in a very small condo with about 5 or so aquariums with 3 people and 1 cat lol....
 
You can keep two or three chinese firebellies in a 5 gallon. but you HAVE to be diligent about cleaning the water. Water quality is fairly unstable in small tanks. Another thing is that you CAN NOT put firebellies in with the ADF. So either way, you'd have to get another tank.
 
I know i've used them for larvae before. I was just wondering why they made an aquarium the size of a tupper ware container.
 
i currently have 4 c.e.p. juvies (all about the size of small male C.o) in a 5 gallon.

, i have decided to go with the 10 gallon ill ask for it on my "Christmas list" lol.
Ill get the adf a new home for now and get 2 Chinese firebellies for the 5 gallon until i get my 10 gallon.

Mike- Really? where do you live, i live in canada... God! are 10 gallons are 60$ I got another 5 gallon hex (for my betta) and it cost me about 70$

Lol, it's kinda weird hmmmm....
 
Those prices are insane. You'd pay that for a thirty gallon tank here, and still have enough left for a ten gallon tank. It might be cheaper to make your own at those prices.
 
I know i think i should go shopping in new york sometime lol, i think i could get alot more for lower prices...
