Great pictures. A treat as us US keepers don't get to see much of the Speleomantes.
Thanks,
Travis

Wonderful photos. I'd like to see some close-up shots of those odd angled, webbed feet, perfect for climbing. I reckon CC will be updating it's species entry pretty soon...

Great pictures, Francesco, it isn't often that you see this genus featured.

Thanks Francesco for sharing!
It's great to see these pictures!

Great photos, thanks for posting them. Please post habitat shots if you have some.

Thanx guys!

Will
They come from 2 different locations in central Italy

Mark and Mike
Sorry to disappoint you but I didn't take any pictures of their habitat and feet. Next time I go there I will take some shots of the place

Great photos of any interesting looking salamander...do they remind anyone else of the ensatinas we've got over here?

I found some pictures of the place where the s. italicus was found. There were also some salamandras

Hello Francesco!

Very beautiful pictures of habitats! I always love to see them in a natural setting. Thank you for sharing. The last pictures of Salamandra was my favourite. Is Speleomantes an arboreal species?

Greetings, Terry

what subspecies is that salamandra? terrestris?? unusal pattern!

Nice Francesco!
Could you post a more detailed picture for me of the gigliolii? Looks like a specimen from Liguria/Genova area...am I right? (if you don't want to give away the location please answer me private).

Sorry guys I was wrong identifying the second salamander. It's not a S. ambrosii but a S. italicus. So they're both S. italicus

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
