A few months ago I acquired three female and one male dobrogicus from xMidnightx and within the last two weeks, they've all begun laying.

Now, one of the females has some issues. She's not the greatest swimmer, has trouble getting food in her mouth on the first go, and has some overall balance and buoyancy issues. I never witnessed the male doing the electric slide for her so I was unsure she'd lay eggs this season until now. Over the last few days, she's started laying(the other ladies had a head start) but she seems to end up smashing all of her eggs when laying folding them between leaves. I've watched her smash 5-6 of them myself and found another dozen of smashed eggs.

My brother will be in town on break from college this coming week and I've asked him to bring his fancy camera so I can take some photos of her and the job she's done scrambling some eggs. In the meantime, I was curious if anyone else has experienced anything like this with any animals?

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
