I read in a thread some where on here that you are suppose to do daily water changes for the eggs, but on axolotl.org it doesn't mention that.

What type of axolotls will my pair produce? the mother is axanthic albino and i think the father is leucistic, i have a male melanoid also (black) both males were in the tank, but i think the father must be the leucistic as the eggs are white

thanks

I would assume a daily water change would only be necessary for containers with an over abundance of eggs.

I've never done water changes with any of my eggs and they all hatched out fine.

I agree with jean, i read something about only albino,(red eyed) axolotls produce white eggs, leucistic (black eyes) axolotl eggs, seem to be black, i was worried when i bought eggs that were supposed to be leucistic, because the eggs were black, but recently they have hatched and are definetly leucistic. Also, whilst the eggs were developing, which took 15 days in total, i never done any water changes, apart from when i moved the eggs into a smaller container, but from day one when they hatch have gave them daily water changes.

OK thanks for that, I think i will do 50% water changes each day cus i have quite a lot of eggs.

So can any parent combination create any type of axolotl / colours ?

Hi yes..on the Axolotl.org web page there is so much information.. Just click on the links at the top of the page.. The one that explains the colour genetics is Axolotls - Biology
You will find it all very interesting reading...
