I would like to know what type of soil is being used for setups for terestrial newt setups? Also what do you do to disinfect it or treat it. I was going to use an orgainc soil and toss it in microwave for a bit to kill anything in soil. Then mix it with ECO EARTH coconut fiber.

For terrestrial setups, "organic" topsoil (free of pesticides, fertilizers, perlite, vermiculite, etc.) or coco-fiber or a mix of both provides a nice substrate. There is no need to sterilize the soil - the microbes are helpful in degrading the animal's waste products.
