So Many Eggs!!! What To Do?!

Ok so my female is about 12 mths old now. Maybe a little older. I also have a male in a 4 foot tank. She has laid eggs all through the tank (mostly on the plants). So I have removed the plants with the eggs into a smaller tank but there are literally 50-100 more eggs in the tank. The plants I reoved prob have about 50 eggs each - I think that is enough to keep for my first time (thoughts???).

What do I need to do with the remain eggs? In the tank with the male/female axo? Can I lleave them there or do I need to remove them and destroy them?

PLEASE HELP!

if you leave them in the tank there is a good chance your axies will eat them.
alternatively you can advertise them on here and post them to people, there are usually many takers for axie eggs, make sure they are fertilized of course

For your first time, I would recommend trying to raise only a few - 20 or so. The more you try to raise, the higher the mortality rate is likely to be. Think about how much tank/tub space you will be able to provide, and from that figure out how many you can reasonably raise. The unwanted eggs can be left to the adults (feed them less, and they will be more inclined to eat the eggs), or given away, or frozen to kill them.

Hi Dave,

You'll have to remove the shells even if the parents eat the contents. They are sticky and collect dirt like nothing else. Just so you know.
