My Axolotl is growing fast and I'm planning on upgrading he/she from a 10 gal to a 20 gal. I already have the tank I have some questions though.

Am I able to put a snail in the tank with my axie or would a snail better suit my Betta?

Where can I find a hide that's big enough to suit my axie once he/she is full grown?

Any suggestions on how to decorate my 20gal?

Thanks for your help!

The topic of snails is heavily debated. Firstly, you would need to opt for snails that thrive in the same conditions suited to axolotls to ensure you are meeting optimum conditions for both species and you are not compromising living conditions for either species. Secondly, you will need to consider whether the snail may be an impaction risk to your axolotl if it were to swallow it. some smaller snails with softer shells may be better suited than those with hard tough shells. Many keepers will advise you that it is best to just steer clear and not keep any snails at all although some have kept snails without issue.
