Hello.
We’ve got a little small smooth newt named Sally. She’s been living with us and been doing well for a couple of months now. Found her on a parking lot outside my house, where I missed her by 20cm with my front tire and then by another 10cm with my foot as I stepped out of the car, didn’t see how she’s survive without my intervention so we decided to build her a home.
However, two days ago she shed her skin, and after that her front right leg seems to be swollen, she doesn’t wanna put weight on it and the toes are just like one. Could she have injured herself while shedding?
She hasn’t eaten nor shown interest to the crickets after she ate her own skin.
We are very worried as we’ve become very attached to her. She does move around in her tank, but she’s not as responsive or curious as she usually is.
Any help or tips about what this is or what we can do about it would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance
