Small-mouthed salamander

First, i found a small-mouthed salamander about two weeks ago and i made him a little home in a lizard lounge my bf had. Well today i found another one in about the same spot so i put him in the lizard lounge also. I only have one "burrow" for now and they are both in the same one and it looks like they are cuddling! Is this ok. I am in the process of making another "burrow" so it is temporary, but still is it ok for the time being? should i even have two in the same tank? the one that i found today us considerably larger than the first one that i found, does this make a difference?

If the size difference is great enough, the large one could eat the small one. If not, then there is no problem with them sharing the same burrow.

Thanks a lot, there is no way that the big one could eat the smaller one, in the process of making another burrow though!

Do small-mouthed salamanders shed b/c the one that I have had for a couple weeks had skin coming of its tail and he ate it? Is this normal?

All salamanders shed, and it's common for them to eat the skin. It's one of nature's recycling programs.

If a salamander looses part of it's tail will it grow back? One of our salamanders got part of his tail cut off by the shovel, will he be ok, is there anything that I can do to make it better?
