Skin damage

i brought a new axie home yesterday (its from the same tank,batch,lfs as my first so i put it straight in as theres been no other fish/axie's in the tank at the lfs since i brought the first 1)
ive noticed s/he has some sort of damage/scrape to its left hand side! its red around the "wound" and looks fluffy!(pics are blurry but will post 1 anyway?) is this just the skin or is it somthing else?

sounds to me as though she has been injured and then its gotten infected. I'm not sure if you can give them salt baths when the have an open sore but I'm sure someone else will know. good luck!

yip the 'fluffy' stuff you mention would be fungus. salt baths will help clear it up and keep that wound nice and clean!

jon - just incase you need the salt bath mix solution;

2 teaspoons of salt dissolved in 2 liters of water. Soak for 10 min twice a day.

thanks every1 but the lose "fluffy" bit is gone and the wound looks "good" so im not gonna salt bath s/he unless the "fluffy" bits return?

If the sore is still there I would give her maybe one bath just to prevent anymore fungus but I gues you can see it better.
