I own 5 Siren Lacterinas and i've had them in a bare bottom tank for about 3 months now. I originally had 6 but one of them was biting the limbs off the tank mates so i currently only have one siren with its limbs. I was wondering how long regeneration of the limbs usually takes? I'm currently documenting their growth and how long it takes till they grow them back but i have no idea how long that will take so if anyone has any knowledge on this i would greatly appreciate it.

How big is your setup that you're keeping 5 sirens?!

Hi!
If you minimize all factors that can cause stress, the missing limbs will regenerate in 1-2 months. Put hiding places in their tank, at least as many as the number of the animals in there! In a stressful environment it's not sure, that the missing limbs will regrow.
When I bought my smaller lacertina, the larger one (which seems a male) was aggressive to it and bit off its left hand. At about a week later, the larger one habituated to the smaller one and since then they've been living together without any aggression. The missing hand regrow at about in 1.5 months.

They are currently in a 90 gallon which im upgrading to a 150 gallon in a few weeks when i get enough money for the whole set up. They are also only a little over a foot long and as thick as a magic marker so they have plenty of room.

Its already been like 2 weeks and i havent seen any signs of them regrowing. Their environment doesnt seem like it would be stressful to them. Honestly I do have some questionable fish in the tank which includes a 1ft south american gar, 2 cory catfish, 2 rainbow sharks, 2 pictus catfish, and a big pleco, along with a tadpole. The gar has never attacked any of the fish and is a peaceful gar not aggressive. I also added some play sand to the tank about 3 hours ago so they can burrow cause i heard that it reduces their stress. Are there any other factors that would reduce the time it takes to regenerate?

That's a LOT of animals in the tank. I imagine your bioload is through the roof, and the animals are stressed from being in such an odd mix. None of those animals are native to each other at all, and sirens rarely live in water that has fish in it.

Also, a 150 gallon tank is not going to be big enough for more than maybe 2 or 3 adult sirens.

With so many fish it´s no wonder the animals are stressed and agressive. If you take away the fish and leave the sirens alone (maybe some small fish, but nothing large), i´m sure you´ll see a change in their behaviour.

For 5 adults? A large swimming pool.
