I was hoping to get some experienced advice about the average size of the siren species. I have a 55 gal. tank and am looking to purchase a dwarf or lesser siren. I like the dwarf siren appearance but dont really want such a small animal that will only hide in the substrate. I hear size is only about or 6 inches. I know that you can comfortably have a lesser siren in a 55 but I hear that they can grow to 2 feet and I dont want one quite this big. Is the 2 foot mark average? Do they generally just aquire this length as they near a decade old or are they kind of individualistic in growth rate? I would like to have one hopefully no longer than 14 inches. Is this legnth typical?
