So after seperating my 3 males from my 3 female I discovered that somebody was fibbing

I just went to exchange the water in my males tank and found eggs??? I think they are all fertile too, so i have a brine shrimp hatcher but was wondering how long it takes for the eggs to hatch and how do i seperate the brine shrimp from the salt water before feeding???

I Have raised fire bellied newts before and they only lived a month, but i have another lot of eggs off them at the moment too.

ok first of all how many eggs do u have?
cause if you have an excessive number like say 400 or so then u might want to cull some to give the others more of a chance since less will be easier to look after.
the eggs should hatch within two to four weeks depending on the temperature of the water in which they are kept, the higher the temp the sooner they will hatch. also i would put the eggs into a separate container, i used plastic storage tubs when i had eggs, with an airstone in it.
wat i did to seperate the brineshrimps from the salt water was pour everything into a shallow square container, put a torch at one end and then they would all swim to the torch then i would get a pipette or turkey baster and suck them up into it. then i got a strainer part from a coffee plunger and sqirted them into it and the water would go through leaving the brineshrimp. then i just rinsed them with tap water and put em in with the axies. i repeated the process several time till the babies had enough food.

also check out the breeding and rearing section of www.axolotl.org it also gives a link to the indiana axolotl colony that has a brineshrimp hatchery thing which i based mine on that worked really well. i used a heater to hatch brineshrimp in less than a day.
hope this helped!

cheeky little buggers arent they!!
they generally take 24-48 hours to hatch (the brine shrimp). the husks will be at the bottom so you can just scoop em out, rinse em and give them to your babies! please feel free to correct me if im wrong, ive only read how to hatch them.

Thanks for your info

I had 31 eggs yesterday, but she has laid more overnight, and no i won't be trying to raise them all just some,.

I found a fine coffee filter helpful to get the brineshrimp out of the salt water. Try syphoning the shrimp into the filter and then rinse the filter under fresh water. Then just wave the filter in the axie container to get the shrimp out.

Hope this helps.
