Hey :)

I was given my axolotl for my birthday but mr Sanchez is now a member of my family.
I got my brother to watch him for two days. In those two days he ate another fish. This fish had a parasite in him. I have taken Sanchez to a vet cause I don't like seeing him in pain. I Just want to make sure I'm not doing him harm. He was prescribed megaflix and his water to changed every three days.. This photo is Sanchez after two days in the melaflix water

These adorable little bundles of weird often become part of the family very quickly.
Sorry to hear that Mr Sanchez has been unwell, and I hope that he makes a rapid recovery. It is not uncommon for fish to have parasites. The best food for axolotls is earthworms and they provide the best overall nutrition, but it is also good to keep some variety in the diet to ensure that they have enough vitamins and minerals. My gang also have axolotl pellets, prawns and mussels, along with their earthworms.

Hey so Sanchez is being taken to a specialist vet tomorrow for boarding. He has taken a major turn for the worse. His water is sitting at 20 degrees and is balanced every week after his change..
 
This is Sanchez atm if I can save him will his lip grow back?

Sorry to hear that Sanchez has taken a turn for the worse, but it is good that you have found a specialist vet. These guys have amazing regenerative abilities, but it is probably worth having the discussion with the vet tomorrow.
Best of luck to Sanchez and please keep us posted on his progress.
 
So Sanchez was taken to a vet.. He fractured his jaw bone and ripped the lip
He is now on pain meds being bathed daily and also in antibiotics
 
Wow, fractured his jaw bone as well.
As has been said before, these little fellas have amazing regeneration and healing abilities, and I would expect that pain meds and antibiotics are giving him the best chance of making a full recovery without infection.
It's great that you found a specialist vet to treat him.
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for Sanchez making a full and rapid recovery. :happy:
