Hi all. I'm experiencing issues of bacterial infection with my little man. I've seen the issue come up before I realized what it was, but never payed attention to it as it seemed to go away on its own periodically. Yesterday, my little guy was freaking out trying to get air, then swimming to the bottom and twitching to the side most affected by the infection. After doing some reading, I found that giving him salt baths for 10 minutes a day is supposed to help so I did it yesterday and the issue seems to be a bit better, but I am still wary to keep doing so. I wanted to ask, is this the best way to treat the infection? Is there something that I should do? I'm scared he might die soon as he won't eat. The last time he ate was a little bit of pellets last week, and completely refused to eat a nightcrawler I put in his tank yesterday. Please help!!

Update: I just gave him a second salt bath in which he seemed very limp. When I move him during water changes he usually resists and tries to swim away from the net I use to move him but he seemed like he couldn't do anything even if he wanted. When I put him back in he just fell right to the bottom like he couldn't help it. I'm really worried about him.

Hey wait, why are you doing salt baths? Are you sure it's a bacterial infection? He looks semi-ok in the photos.

I'm sorry no one has replied to you at all! I'm sorry, I've been at work for like 6 days and can't check the forums while I'm at work.

Stop doing the salt baths, they shouldn't go limp like that afterwards. When mine gets a salt bath, she's furious afterwards, a sign she's still with us. Have you tried the black tea bath? I have never done one but I hear they're much better and safer than salt baths! Please tell me your little guy is doing better!
