Hi so im worried about my axie.He seems to be looking alot more veiny recently and he uses to have many little gill things (idk what they're called) but now they seem to be shorter and paler. Ive had an algae problem for months now but it looked like it was clearing up but now it's gotten worse again and it looks like it's sticking to my axolotl on his gills and stuff, but I'm worried it could be fungus.he also has white on his eyes.Ive tried to attach photos that show the problems. ive also attached one of what he usually looks like (a month ago)
ammonia and nitrite are 0 and the temp is 19°C but has fluctuated a bit up to 22 this week. I did a water change yesterday and the filter had so much algae and I just don't know what to do about it :((.
any advice is appreciated

Hi,
Glad to know your ammonia and nitrite are 0 but what about the nitrates ?
If you have this algae problem, it could be due to a high nitrate level, which could also affect your axolotl ?

I noticed some plants in the tank but are they real or fake ?

hi! welcome to the forums! i’m ren :)
his gill filaments have deteriorated quite a bit - why, i’m not sure. information on your parameters would be beneficial.
with the possibility of fungus, id tub him immediately and begin tea baths
as for the algae, i’m not sure why you’d have any in such a cold water tank- unless it’s in direct sunlight, idk why it would be present. pictures would be great :)

Hi! my parameters are 0 for ammonia and nitrite and about 20 for nitrate. I can't get any photos of the algae rn because I did a water change yesterday and there is not any big bits rn it usually comes back in a few days though also I dont have any currently but I did have verytiny white worms on my glass for about a month but they arnt there anymore. would you be able to tell me how to do tea baths? I've never done one before.
thank you:)

My nitrate is about 20 and all the plants are fake. The (what I'm assuming is algae after looking it up) is like slimey and usually get on the glass and decor. thank you

Ok.
I asked that because living aquatic plants are known to improve water quality.
Without real plants, algae will benefit from the ressource (nitrates and other compounds from decaying axolotl poo).

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail. Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much
