Sick axoloti

Please help I have a pink axoloti floss and recently noticed a small bump on her tail and her flumes seem to be getting smaller we then went away for a week and left her in good hands but came back to her flume seemed shrivelled up and the lump turned into the attached picture
Any suggestions of what I can do she’s about 8 years old

by flume I assume you mean gill stems and filaments, regressing gills is normally a sign of bad water parameters, do a full water test.
the growth on the tail may need to be removed to prevent it growing larger.
if you aren't already house your axolotl in 50% holtfreters with 0.1g/l magnesium sulphate to aid recovery.
