Okay So I was thinking rlly hard and found out That maybe when I had my Axoltol in a Smaller tank (10 gal) That my axolotls gills grew more bigger. Ever since I moved my axolotl into a 37 Gallon fish tank it’s Gills got Smaller.

the water should be closer to 15°c - 18°c/59°f - 64°f
the ammonia and nitrites should be 0ppm
nitrates <20ppm (a cycled tank should never have zero nitrates unless plants or other means of nitrate removal is employed)
ph 7.4 - 7.6
the water should be highly oxygenated
axolotls can tolerate different levels though, although kept at higher or lower levels can effect your axolotl and the water chemistry itself.
for parameters go to Water Quality Explained: How It Can Affect Your Axolotl's Health - WSAVA 2015 Congress - VIN
something in your water is effecting him please do a full parameter check and lower the temperature.
also can you post a day time picture preferably with gills and eyes.

Short gills and less frills have to do with bad water, not amount of water. As wolfen said, check your parameters. If they're off, you'll need to tub him in dechlorinated water.

The 10g may have actually been cycled already. It's possible the 37g is either not cycled or had a cycle crash. Gill damage can be quite prolonged in effect, but you need to figure out what's wrong with the water.

My axolotl's gills have totally disaeared and he's been responsless and me and my familly don't know what's going on. But I do have good water conditions and it's always cold so I'm uncertain.

Can you show a picture of him???

If he's unresponsive, he might be dead but he might also be morphing and may need land.

although axolotls can absorb oxygen through their skin their main way of breathing is through their gills, if his gills have disappeared and he isn't coming to the surface to gulp air then there is a problem, he needs to be removed and tubbed in shallow water with an air stone and kept under observation.
there are three things that will cause an axolotl to loose/reabsorb its gills, 1.. bad water conditions, 2.. bitten off be any other tank mates, 3.. morphing into adult salamander form.
also looking at the other post that you have posted on you said that your axolotl has a fungus issue so I don't think it is morphing.
there are a few things that can be done with fungus ie.. holtfreters solution, methyline blue, salt baths, tea baths, adding a small amount of salt to the water.
what are the water parameters.
can you post a picture.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail. I also asked this as an actual question in a thread in case anyone wants to answer it there instead of here
