I moved to Alaska three years ago and getting my three axolotls shipped turned into a circus Mr Barnum himself would have been proud of.

Long story short, it came down to the wire and cost way more than it might have otherwise. I used Alaska Airline's "GoldStreak" service which charged along the same lines as if I were shipping a dog cat or monkey.

Now, I am moving back to NW Washington and trying to find a more cost effective means of getting them there. This time we are looking at 3 Adults ranging from 8-12 inches and a 4 inch long juvenile (all measurements tip-to-tip).

I could use Goldstreak again if I have to, but, does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I would use USPS express mail. It should get from Alaska (Anchorage) to Washington State in 1 day. It will cost approx. 40 bucks.
Goldstreak is not any faster and much more expensive...and dealing with AK airlines is always a big headache.

I'm no axie expert, but others here might be able to advise you on how to best package them for the trip.
