My C.Orientalis has not shed well. I dont think it has shed well in a while. She was shedding alittle, but only her neck and legs. It seems her torso did not shed. Is there anything I can do to help her shed. Thx.

Don't know what to tell you John, except that I had a female that shed in tiny pieces for a couple of months. She went off food all together also. She eventually shed properly, and regained her appetite. I'm telling you this only for the sake of hope that your's will be fine. This particular female does not take well to any kind of changes in her environment. She was "holed" up in shipment during hurricane Ivan, so I'm sure that didn't help her at all. In fact her companion passed away. I have been nursing her for months. She finally got enticed with a tiny earthworm, and her appetite resumed (as said). She is strange in that she has an attachhment to "her lilly pad". This I had to move with her when she was relocated to a larger tank. Go figure - a newt with "attachments" ????

Thx for the encouragement Pamela. I appreciate it. I to had to nurse a newt back to health and he was hard to care for for quite a while. I think thats cute that your newt is attached to the lilly pad.

Could her gravidness be contributed to her problems?
