Question: Sexual maturity?

Hi.
I have 3 axolotl that now are 5 months old and are around 15cm. The leucistic one just got black toes/nails. I know it's a sign of sexual maturity but can it also happen before because it seems early and i can't tell their gender yet.

No it's not, it's a popular myth.

Yes it does - nearly always at 4-6 months. My albinos got their dark toes at 17 weeks.

Oh, i didnt know that, I've read it so many times so I thought it was a fact.
Well, thats a huge relief.
