Please help my baby girl. She is a danube crested newt. She is my favorite and oldest morph. She has severe bloat. I would say about a week ago she started getting bigger but she was a big eater and wasnt very active so I thought she was just gaining weight. But then I knew it was bloat 2-3 days ago so I put her in a small plastic container with about 1/2-3/4 inches of water and placed her in a cooler with ice. She has been at about 39-50 degrees(more in the range of 42-46) and only her tail has become less poofy. I, ofcourse want to save her but if that isnt possible I should keep dragging her along. Here are some pics and please help. Are there other methods to help her?

I saw that article but it wasnt much help in my case. There arent any treat at home methods really. I dont have a local herp vet or the money for it.

I wish I could offer you help AJ but at this point if you cannot get it to a vet I don't think any thing else can be done to help her.

Sorry, AJ. I know it's a sad say for you. It's really rare for an amphibian with bloat to survive.

Just out of curiosity, did you try the low-strength salt solution we suggested in the chat?
