Hi all,
so i picked up the tank i bought off ebay today, and am planning to clean it out and set it up tomorrow, and let it age a little bit until the weekend to put my boy in :)
one problem. i have no idea what to put in the water to treat it. i know i need to put in dechlorinator but thats pretty much about it.
i have looked at the axolotl.org site but am still confused. can anyone just give me a list of the things i need to use?

You really don't need to use anything to treat the water, unless you know that your water has levels of chloramine in it. Water sitting for 2 days will be fine for Axolotls, but if you want to use a dechlorinator, you should use Amquel or Prime.

how can i test to see if it has chloramine in it?

You can contact your local water treatment plant or dept. of public works for a water report. Sometimes the info can be found online. Usually, either chloramines or chlorine are used to treat public water.

If you suspect or find out that your water has trace metals in it or some other nasty, the products Eric recommends will handle everything for you.

Alright kool thanks :)
