Hey Everyone!

As the title states i am going to set up another axolotl tank, yes my 13th tank that will contain axolotls. Only problem is with 13 tank iv kinda run out of room to put this one. I am thinking of putting it in my laundry room (close to tap for water changes, has electrical plug, and a drain which is important because iv flooded the basement one to many times). The tank is a 30 gallon tank and doesn't entirely fit on the counter. iv tried to position it so that way the long side faces out but wont fit because of the cabinet and i cant push it in front because then the door wont open. is it safe to have a little of the tank sticking out like this or will the tank crack leaving water and axies all over the floor.

get a piece of ply-wood large enough for the entire foot of the tank and put it underneath it so the whole tank is supported

AHH . that did not come across my mind. that will defiantly work.

What may be a possible problem if i just leave it like that though?

I would be paranoid about accidentally knocking it over, to be honest. As long as it's supported right it should be ok, but it would bother my OCD and terrify me even if I knew better lol

If you have a small nightstand or something that you could put up next to it that would be good in my opinion, then you'd have a drawer for storage and things too.

I so would not do that even with a piece of wood underneath it. It would be better off on the floor than sitting there as a potential hazard. Is placing it on the floor an option? The view isn't quite as nice but they stay much cooler and it's not that bad overall.

Hi

are all you tanks the same dimensions?. If not can you put one with a smaller foot print on the worktop and relocate the 30 gallon into the basement assuming that there is room there..

good luck

Kevin

Iv put pressure on the half that is sticking out with my hand to see if it will tip but it didn't lean forward or anything until i put a lot of pressure, i figured that with the tank being full of water it would have the same chance of tips as it would if there's nothing in the tank due to pressure balance. My mom doesn't want it on the floor since it is the laundry room and needs the room plus shes worried about accidentally dropping something in the water. Yes it is in my basement, the temperature reaches a max of 68. No all the tanks are not the same size, this is my smallest one ( have 2 other of the same size) in the basement and my largest is a 82 bow front.

To be honest, I would just put one of your other ones on craigslist and trade it for a smaller one. It could be much better that way, because you wouldn't have to worry about finding some way to support it. Water is really heavy and has an insane amount of pressure.

What is the machine under the counter? Would this cause vibrations in the tank?

Okay then i guess il just try to find another place to put it or trade down like you suggest.

If you are referring to the machine beside the counter top where the tank is, its a water dispenser. no power no vibration just uses gravity to pull water down into the nozzle then into your cup when you pull the little finger handle.
