yes finally someone answered me. Anyways im going to buy some sand for my axolotl, but just a question, how do you clean it...i would think that it makes a mess..? thanx again

I put a little at a time in a sock ran water in the open in. Or you can use stockings. Rinse tell the water it clear. What kind of sand are you going to get?

im not exacly sure..lol and so just to clarify, i should put sand it a stocking from the tank and rinse it with water?

Sorry maybe I need to clarify is the sand all ready in the tank??? If not just put the sand in a sock. In a sink, use hot water to rinse it tell it comes out clear.

Or you can place a shallow layer in a bucket, and run water into while stirring until it runs clear. I would not suggest running this in the sink as the grit can collect in the plumbing and block it up...

if the sand is coloured you should put into stockings and soak in a bucket or sink until the water is clear, it took me about 2 weeks to stop my purple sand leaching colour.

I used an old pillow case to clean my sand and the sand got cleaned very quickly and it was all done in one batch.
