Hello! I'm still pretty new here so apologies if I've not done this post correctly or anything!

When I first set up my tank the pet shop sent me home with some pebbles for the tank, but on another post here I was informed they were too small and there was a risk of my axies eating them! So I removed them straight away but I was hoping to replace them with something safer as the tank just looks a bit sad with nothing on the bottom...

I've heard fine silica based sand is best for them, but i was just wondering if this is the best way to go, and if so, where I can purchase this online? My local pet store only has reptile sand which is obviously not right at all so I'm looking at buying online. I live in Australia so I'll need somewhere that delivers to Victoria, Australia.

Thanks! :D:happy:

I'm also new to caudata but I don't think there is anything wrong with your post.
Regarding the silica based sand, I am fairly certain that as long as it's fine sand, it should be ok.
I personally use play sand which is a cheap alternative, but like I did, sift out the rocks that may be in the play sand and clean before putting it in your tank.
Cant help with the transport problem though, sorry!
I wish you luck!

Fine sand is great, you will lose a little of it every time you do a water change/remove waste though (its so fine the sand comes up with the siphon so you'll need to add more semi-regularly. I got mine on Amazon, try there.
