i wanna put salt in with my eggs. is it a teaspoon per litre? and because the water is rather cold, it probably wont disolve? is that okay?

I've never put salt in any of my many batches of eggs and i've never had many problems with fungus. It's normal to lose some, try not to be over cautious with them

if they are half black and half white....do the white bits start to go a bit duller :-s

jenny, as andrew has already said in another thread the white bit is the yolk sack.

i know...but do the white bits start to go duller and smaller after a couple of days as a part of the process or are they going bad?

Jenny when they go bad they go hairy or grey and you won't see them changing.

The fact that they look different to the healthy ones will help you spot them.

Don't mess about with them just keep them in clean water and aerate it with a stone. Check them daily for fungus and deads.
