I'm wondering if any of you have a general idea? I ask because although I'm very careful to wash hands after feeding and handling our A. Maculatum, I'm sure I'm not 100% as far as touching light switches etc. (by handling I mean moving them from under the log after feeding so I don't squash them, or to clean the soil)

I just Googled it, and the Vancouver Aquarium reported 0% in their salamanders (that's 0 of 3,but still... 0!).

I ask because I just sprayed the tank down, just touching the lid really, but didn't wash or use hand sanitizer, then made a snack for my daughter and my lunch for tomorrow, without thinking. Ugh... I'm a worry wort... But, help? ?

Its okay to laugh at me... ?

It's good to be careful, I always wash my hands if I have to handle my newts, but see the article below... apparently I am guilty of not always washing my hands when they have been in the water, and I use my kitchen sink quite a bit cleaning out my small 'quarantine' setups. I guess you can't be too careful, but you don't want to go overboard either!
