hello, could you tell me how can i hibernate my half year old salamandra? the winter is coming and i have heard that i have to hibernate it..thanx for answer.filip
I would suggest... just put it in the coldest place in the house. Salamanders do not have a true "hibernation". They just slow down as the temperature goes down. It is healthy for them to have a cool period in winter.
I cannot give you a "recipe" answer. All I can say is that I try to follow nature as much as possible. In the autumn, I allow temperatures to decrease with the weather, and shorten the hours of illumination to equal the outdoors.
