I was looking at the Newts and Salamanders A Complete Guide to Caudata by Devin Edmonds.
But would like to know What kind of infomation on fire salamanders it has, does it have photos and infomation about all subspeices.
It just lists them and the country they come from. It's not comprehensive if that's what you're looking for. If you want to know a lot about Fire salamanders and their subspecies, I'd say, search around the forum here and google them.

I don't know any source that deals with them in a lot of detail, other than an overview or a list. The only book I know of that really does that is Raffaëlli's, which is quite expensive, in French, and covers all the salamanders of the world, with 9 1/2 pages being the total covering Salamandra salamandra. It's an awesome book, but not for everyone. http://www.caudata.org/forum/showthread.php?t=34589
Probably the links above is just as helpful as Raffaëlli's book.
Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
