There is an aquarium in Parramatta that is selling Salamanders. I bought 2 tonight. They are $180 though.

The manager claimed that she contacted the authorities and they advised that she doesnt need a license because they are closely relate to the axolotls.

Just thought you would like to know.

$180? Ouch! Do you know what they are? Tiger Salamanders, maybe?

I would bet that they are metamorphosed axolotls. Do you have a photo, Clint? Or a description of the coloration?

Yeah i think they are morphed axolotyls.

I will post some photos when i get home from work. I am having trouble putting photos on as the site says they are too big so i will keep trying. (new camera not sure how to work it yet).

twice i have seen them for sale and they are either pink or black with white/brown spots.

I dont think they are tigers.

Yeah $180 ouch. i had to talk her down from $199.00

I any one has email or wants to email me on clintandtelena@optusnet.com.au i can send you better quality pictures and even a video of the behaviour of the 3 of them when they were first put in there.

If we're talking Australian dollars here, that's almost US$140.

i found some yesterday where i live too one was a nice light brown colour with small black spots, was only a young un by the look of it..
he was asking $90 for that one, i'm not saying where cause i'm cycling my new tank for my axies then when it's done gonna get that little bugger hopefully
"it's so cute" will tell ya after

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
