Well after a lot of work I have plucked up the courage of posting photos of my viv for salamanders.
The viv is 6 sided and dimensions are 48" wide 24"high and 24" deep.
Lighting is x2 54w T5 tubes and water is filtered via an aquaball pump.
Currently planted with Pothos, Ficus, Fittonia and Pellonia with decor of cork bark flats and tubes.
The water area has Java moss, Java fern with wood and cork pieces one with a bromeliad attached.
The aquatic substrate is Play sand and dry area consists of moisture retaining organic mulch covered in Oak, magnolia leaf litter.
I have also introduced several cultures of tropical woodlice and springtails as substrate cleaning custodians.

Very very nice looking!
What are the temps? It kind of looks more like a tropical set-up...i´m not so sure those plants are the best options for a salamander tank providing the low temps required....
Oh, most important of all, what salamanders are you keeping there??

The plants have been transferred from my other vivs and are growing nicely under the t5 lighting, the inhabitants will be some Kweichowensis, in tank temperatures have been monitored for over a month using a max min thermometer and are Min: 10.5c Max: 21.1C
I have 3 White cloud mountain minnows in the water area getting the water to cycle and there are 3 fans fitted into the hood for circulation cooling etc, I'm intending to remove one of the t5 lights for more stability once the plants are well established in a few weeks.

That looks great, I love all natural material constructions('cept the divider, obviously).

Where did you get your java? I'm looking for a good healthy supplier. Also ,where did you get your woodlice?

Nice looking set up...can i ask where the kweichows are from?....if they're the ones from dartfrog you'll never see them in that huge tank!

No they aren't from Mark, they are from another breeder in the UK and are in a small tub growing on as they will be lost in there.

I get the woodlice from cultures I raise for my dartfrogs, they are the tropical type so don't know how they will do temperature wise in the long term, the Java moss is from other established vivs.
PM me and I will see if I can sort you out some moss.
