Hello everyone! It's been awhile and my little guy is doing great. But I had a question. While my guy was eating, one of the crickets climbed into his kidney bowl. I always have a little bit of water in there because he absolutely loves it. I put 4-5 crickets in his terrarium and watch to make he eats them all. This is the first time he actually follows one into the bowl, usually he just goes find another one. Anyway, he snapped at it in true tiger fashion and got straight water. At first he just shook his head, then he tried to swallow. I got him out ASAP of the water because I realized quickly that wasn't his concern. He then started bubbling from the mouth and trying to swallow (I thought he was drowning) and trying to vomit I picked him up and he took a big intake of air. He seemed fine after that but every once in a while he keeps taking a big breath. He is moving around slightly, no longer trying to eat though. Just wondering if I should be really concerned? I know tigers are burrowers and that they don't "need" a bowl of water, but like I said he loves it and it isn't deep at all, he can stand up and it barely covers his legs. He has the ecoearth coconut fiber substrate for the rest of the terrarium. Thanks :)

I have observed mine occassionally pluck a cricket from their water bowl - never posed a problem.

Yes! Thank you. I watched him for a little while and he calmed down. So I went to bed and checked on him this morning. He's perfectly fine. This is just the first time he does that.
