Safe Sand

Hi guys! I may have jumped the gun a little bit and I ordered all the stuff this morning I figured I'd need for my axolotl. I bought National Geographic™ Aquarium Sand | Gravel & Sand | PetSmart this sand, and I was wondering if anyone knew if it's safe or not? I'm really hoping it is, because I bought 50lb of it haha ;~; Also! At what age would it be safe for my tank to have sand? I don't want to injure my lotls by giving them a substrate they could ingest but not digest.

I've used that one and it hasn't caused any problems for me They will never be able to "digest" the sand, but it will be easier for them to pass the sand if they are above 3 inches long If your going to use sand, its best to have a feeding bowl for them to eat out of. I use a flower vase... it's glass and I made sure it was cleaned very thoroughly. It works very well and keeps them from eating so much sand.

Ah! Thanks so much. I'll be sure to get a feeding bowl for the lotls. I just remember looking around this forum and reading there was such a thing as unsafe sand and thinking, "I sure hope the sand I bought is going to be okay." Glad and thankful you were able to clear this up for me.
