These are some of my S. s. gallaica.

beautiful sals travis. how did you put numerous pics on the one post.

Are they captive bred or illegally taken from the wild? Very beautiful individuals indeed...

PS: it's Serra de Arrábida, not Sierra...

They are absolutely great looking!! This is such a nice subspecies, love the red.

I am also still interested if these were taken from the wild. In the past there was someone notoriously sending animals from that Serra-area around the world to anyone would could offer something in exchange. I know many were spread in Europe.
In Germany and the UK S.s. gallaica are often captive bred for sale; so there is no need to steal from the wild...just to let you know, for anyone else interested in this beautiful subspecies.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
