Rotting Tail - Spanish Ribbed Newt

The tail of one of my Spanish Ribbed Newts has a peculiar white growth. It appears to be growing up the tail causing the end of the tail to 'rot' away. Has anyone experienced this before? Does anyone know a cure?

Here is an up to date pic. The white patch seems to move up the tail a bit then erodes away shortening the tail.

P. Walti infected tail

Hello, my P. Walti seems to have a fungus growing on its tail. Its a white fungus that seems to grow slowly up the tail. Then the end will degrade away. Its tail has considerable got smaller especially compared to the other P. Walti in the tank.

I have been reading about salt baths. Do they work? Should i segregate it from the other one?

Any advise would be grt.
