Hi there!

This is probably a really stupid question, but I'd rather looks a bit.. 'slow' and be pre-cautious now than harm my future axie!

Years ago (probably 15 years ago now) I went to the seaside, found some cool rocks, bought them home and put them in the garden. They're still in the garden, next to a gnome pushing a wheel barrow full of flowers and they really don't add to the 'feature'.

Would these rocks - after a good boiling - be safe to put in the tank?

depends what they are.

They could contain nasties and/or affect PH.

post a pic and we'll let you know pal.

Thanks a bunch! Containing nasties and it affecting the water was my concern! It does feel awfully weird posting pictures of a stone though

If I put it in, I'll definitely give it a good scrub before hand, but it appears to be rusting. I'm assuming this would affect the water somewhat?

They look nice, but I won´t put them into the tank. The red patches can be a hint for metal inclusions.

Tina has a good point. Does your local pet shop sell large stones? I would just get them from there and rinse them or boil them in hot water.

I won't put it in! My local pet shop is a bit poo regarding bits for tanks, but I'll go further afield to buy one. I think I'm finding 'furnishing' the tank to be such a task as I want it to be lovely for the axie, and not just any hide/plant/rock will do, haha!
