Alright, so a few months ago I was at Petco looking around for a good substrate for my Axolotl. I found something called "Riverbed Sand" by Exo Terra. It said it was good for amphibians and turtles so I bought it.

It's been a while now, my Axolotl has been pretty active he's been eating normally and swimming around. but I just want to make sure if it's safe..

Looks perfectly fine from what I could read on the bag. It doesn't have any additives, just seems to be plain sand which is what you want. The risks with sands, to my knowledge, is just the possibilities of additives or if the axolotl is under 5 inches, the chance of impaction if swallowed. Some sands can also possibly change your Ph, but it'll usually state it on the bag aquarium specific sands.

Thanks! that helped out a lot, he's a Juvenile and does sort of look like he's about 5 inches
