I have picturs finally! the first pics are of my first 10 gallon setup. Mr. Nibbles was so small then!

Here are pictures of my old 20 gallon set up. I had the plastic plants in it first and then added the Dracaena later. I had to drain my tank and change it because of the worm problem. I had Dracaena as plants in the tank and I made the rock cave from Black Aquarium Silicone and aquarium gravel and river rocks glued to a large white pvc pipe

These are pics of my new setup. Grant, if you're seeing these, the Dracaena is completly submerged.I used new plants for the setup. (lucky bamboo) It will do just fine

Finally, here is the only pic I could get with a crappy disposible camera of Titus, my white Axie
38467.jpg

and finally a very terrible pic of Grimace, being as I was stupid and forgot to use the flash button. It was taken during the old setup (kicks self)
38468.jpg

and a pic of my cat Foober that I had to add. Such a fatty

Let me know what you guys think! Sorry for taking so long to finaly get some underfoot

Enjoy!

Nice setup, Rheann.
You've done well with that pvc-rock gluing mission.
I just would not have the patience to do that

.

How does Foober feel about the axies?

Thank you Anne

to Answer your question about Foober and the Axies:
38478.jpg

He loves watching them
happy.gif
He will sit for the longest time just watching them, but never really bothers them unless I accidentally leave the top open unguarded, then he drinks from the tank. Silly cat
happy.gif
Most of the time, he is off playing with my eldery cat NuNu.
38479.jpg
Don't worry, the can of Tubifex worms on top of the tank I stopped long ago feeding them to the Axies when I was warned of their dangers. They happen to be sitting up on top of the old tank set up because I hadn't any fish or other animals to feed them to lol. Even my oldest cat LIkes to watch my Axies. I didn't get a picture of it though lol.

In the picture with the last tank, you can see Grimace's black head poking out from behind the rock cave as Foober is looking down. I'll do my best to get more pictures of him, he's very dark, it's hard to get them
happy.gif

The new black set up looks very nice Rheann. I hope that bamboo lives it looks nice in there. You did a good job on the rock cave. I think they look good with any color sand.

Thank you Cynthia

I'll try really hard to get some good pictures of my Axolotls. A disposabole camera doesn't do much for them, they take such crappy photos, but it will have to do until I can get a nice camera, or at least a digi cam.

Very nice I love that black sand you have done
a great job on your tank and axies. Where
is gimpy kept it would be good to see some
pics of him (hint hint) he’s so cute with
his little stumps. well anyway good job
Rheann.

Hi Nathan
happy.gif
Gimpy is actually Titus. I changed his name to Titus on account that Titus is a character from the Shakespearian play "Titus" In the play, Titus cuts his one hand off for different reasons, and since it was his right hand, and titus is missing his right hand, I named him Titus. For now, I think it fits, even though he was also a bit nubby on his back leg when he first arrived, but almost all of his toes and leg have grown back, but the front let still has his fore-arm and fingers left to grow. He also has a lot of black and grey freckles all over his nose, face, and the back of his neck, and now they are even forming a lot down his fin and sides. Before they were just gray. Thanks for your comments

I call Titus Gimpy as a love name, because he rather is cute with stubs, but I am looking forward to them growing back completly ;)

38492.jpg

Wow, there was actually another picture of Titus on the cd that I over looked. I thought I had taken one, but then again, me with cameras it's very un predictible. I am sorry for the quality of the pictures. Disposible cameras are terrible at taking pictures. I'm going to see if I can get an underwater Digi cam or just a regulare underwater camera and see how it fairs. You can't even see all of the purple brown spots on mr. nibbles in the second photo
sad.gif
or the lovely black one's on titus for that matter. He looks like a piglet in the second photo featuring him lol.

38495.jpg

Here is the pic again with Titus aka "Gimpy" before he came to me. He has really grown since then, his gills are now more pink than in the photo. His limbs as I said I really improving.

Even though it's on my profile, I put it up again because I am going to change my profile soon, so it's not a redundancy lol.

And of course, the better pic of Grimace, also taken before he arrived. His gills are so red now, he's such an attractive Axie ;)

Nice pictures. Well I ended up using the bamboo in a different way so that the tops would be coming up out of the tank I'll post pictures, but the bamboo doesn look very nice. Your tank looks really nice though great job! P.S. I like your new avatar with Johnny Depp in Edward Scizzor Hands. That is my girlfriends favorite movie and she is obsessed with Johnny Depp. lol.

That's a great setup Rheann, that lucky bamboo is fantastic :D That pic of little Titus (in your hand?) is my favourite.. poor little Gimpy! and I agree, Grimace is a handsome axie
happy.gif

Grant - Thank you so much
happy.gif
I also have an obsessiong with Johny Depp, mostly edward though as I have several posters depicting him. Thanks so much for your comments
happy.gif

Halszka - The hand in the picture isn't mine lol. It's the hand of the person I ordered him from. He is sure cute! And yes, I must agree Grimace is very handsom! I love his dark color, his gills are so red right now he's simply stunning! Oh, My husband's brother let me have his scanner/printer! So now I can scan on pics when ever I want! I will soon be getting a very nice camera to take lots of pics of my axies. If anyone would like to see some of my artwork, I have scanned on pictures, let me know, I can email them to you or post them.

very nice i love your setup, i always thought bigger tanks look prettier and that is true

good job

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
