Ok, As Promised, here are the pictures I took today at Petsmart. I wasn't able to take actual pictures of the roots inside of the tanks because the big tanks had covers over them and I am way too short. My husband volunteered to hold the roots while I took pictures. The root I got was $19.99. The bigger roots are less expensive. The Petsmart website didn't have some of these items listed on their site. The $20 one is the one I have

And once again here is my tank setup so everyone can get an idea of what the root would look like in a tank. Hope this picture doesn't wear its self out lol. All of the roots pictured above are made out of the Resin and are not real pieces of wood. They are a lot better in my opinion than real pieces of wood because they wont rot away and they help bring beauty into the tank. Please everyone who visits this thread posts your commments

Thank you Rheann. I need that $19.99 root for my tank. I might actually have to "go in" Petsmart here and see if they have one. Though I would rather order it online :D

~ Cynthia, if your local petsmart doesn't have it if you can pay for the shipping and the root after sales tax I would be happy to ship it to you free of charge for my self. When I was there, that one my husband is holding was the last one they had out on the shelf until they get more in another shipment. Eric has asked me to ship some off to him so I am working it out with him which ones he wants.

NOTE TO EVERYONE
If anyone that visits this thread sees a root(s) they like and can't get them either because they live out of the united states, or because their local petsmart do not carry the item(s) or wont special order them I will be happy to ship them off free of charge for my self, but all I ask is that the shipping expenses, and root(s) price(s) after California sales tax are paid for by the person asking for the shipment. I can't cover these charges
smile6.gif
So email me via private message or post on this thread to let me know. Also, shipment would be limited on how many items petsmart has stocked at the current time and anything else would have to wait until their next stock shipment.

I have a very busy work schedule, i.e. working on my novel, web comic panels and other various artwork and large projects, so I can only ship out a few at a time but will do my best to help everyone. Thanks

I won't charge anything to my self for this, I am doing it simply because I am volunteering my time to do it. Feel free to enquire if you are interested.

Rheann - That is very nice of you to offer. I live about 6 blocks from Petsmart and I have never been in the store (lol). I ........will.........make ...myself...go.. .next payday

Rheann, thank you for your help. You are too nice. If you need anything designed - just ask me - book covers, posters, business cards, etc - I will have to work around my customers but I wouldn't mind at all - free of charge.

Rehann ~ that is really nice of you. I live in New Zealand and we don't have any 'petsmart' shops anywhere. I would really like one of those 'tree roots' for my axies tank they look sooooo... cool
happy.gif
i have got a couple of questions. How much would it cost me after tax (in NZ Dollars) to buy and ship the 'Top Fin Root' $12.99 in the 4th picture? and also how big is it? At the moment I have a tank that is 70cm x 35cm x 32cm but i am getting a new tank soon as it doesn't look like the 'tree root' would fit in the one that i've got. If you could help me out it would be really great but if not that's cool aswell

Yup, I'm interested too, Rheann. It's good of you to offer - I'll drop you an email.

Just a quick question - what's the length of your tank for size comparison?

I can help you out Deanna. Sadly, I don't have a ruler or a tape measure so I have no idea what size your tank would be in gallons. Wish I had a tape measure, give my smallest left toe for a tape measure. I Can get you one of the roots, but I don't know the price difference in currancy from here to there. Does anyone know and can help us out? That root in the fourth picture is pretty big as you can see from my cutey pie husband holding it up lol
lol.gif
In gallons, it wouldn't fit in a tank any less than 29 gallons and look nice I would think, and I think would work best in a 29 gallon tall tank, or a 35 gallon long tank. Something like that. If we can figure out the price difference then it will be good to go ^_^ Eric has asked me to get one of the same roots for him. . So far I am helping him get one of each from picture #1, #3, and #5. I will be shipping them off each in their own package as it would be safer this way to insure none of them get damaged in the traveling. Once I find out how much it will cost to ship to Texas, I can find out from the post office how much it would be to ship to New Zealand. I'll look online tonight to see if I can find how much the currency exchange is unless anyone else can help us figure that out.

Hey Anne, posted my last post before I saw yours lol. My tank is a 20 gallon tall. No idea in Cm lol. root in picture #5 works great in my tank. Couldn't go any bigger, but smaller also works great too. Posting the pictures again.

Lots of roots at good O' petsmart. All of the other roots that do not have a price on them are around or lower than the prices listed, except for that one log with the hollow in it. I think it's $19.99 or more, forgot to check lol.

As a rough guide $au is around 1.5 times the american dollar. so anything thats $20 US is $30 Australian -I THINK!!. Beware Aussies - I don't do economics so that's only a very rough guide. Plus postage.

Shop smart - shop PetS mart?

Rehann ~ Thanks for that i just had a look at the currency converter and (if i worked it out right)
happy.gif
it is $12.99NZD = $18.99USD.
Also I think I have changed my mind about #5 I think #4 looks primo it probably wont fit in my tank but that's a good reason to get bigger tank.
biggrin.gif
Your tank looks cool with the black sand and the tree root. Did you get that sand from petsmart as well? We have it in our pet shop (i seen some the other day) but they only sell little bags, i mite ask if they can get any different colours. Just another question, What type of filter do you use in your tank? Internal or External?

Hey Deanna ^_^ I am going to get Eric's roots ready to send after the 15th of this month. The root in picture five is $12.99 in american currency, but that is before California state Tax, which I think is about %6 of the total price of the item. If you want that root, I will ship it off to you if you can cover the expenses for the shipping charges and the root. That big root is really big. Good excuse to get a bigger tank
biggrin.gif
Bigger tanks are always better ^_^ Much, much better. drop me a private message and we can work out a plan. 12.99 USD
United States Dollars = 18.3771 NZD
New Zealand Dollars I think you just got the two mixed around ^_^

that would be before california state tax. I would send the reciet of the total charges for everything to you.

Cheers for that Rehann that's really nice of you. And yeah thanks i did get the two mixed up
crazy.gif
I will send you a private msg so we can work it out. Once again thanks heaps my axies will love you for it.

wow those are so cool, I haven't seen anything like those roots here! Maybe am just not shopping in the right places :D

iv'e never seen anything any where near as good as them in Aus either

Might see if my brother in law can bring one back

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
