Redtails are great! They are the most abundant hawk in north America I believe.

They are pretty cool, it is even better when they sit for a moment so you can get a photo. Actually, the photo I posted is cropped quite a bit as the original shot was quite a bit wider. That is the nice thing about originals that are 6000x4000. You can crop them quite a bit and still get an ok pic

Yes he was on a telephone pole indeed. Here is the original photo prior to my cropping the one I posted. As you can see there is a lot going on with the wires etc. That is one of the reasons I chose to crop it. I posted a reply in your "what camera do you use" thread; however, I will post the same info here. I am currently using a Nikon D7100. For my insect and salamader pictures, I use a nikon 60mm 2.8 lens. For this shot I used an older lens I have which is the Nikon 50-200mm. This shot was taken at 200mm, f/9, and 1/200th sec. I need to get a new zoom lens but with kids birthdays and Christmas, I decided to hold off.

I can see why you cropped it, even without the crop it is a good pic.
You take some wonderful photos man, all I have is a digital camera, I wish I had one of those that you have! Maybe when I get the money though I will buy one. I love the photos in your post "another hobby of mine" as well, the shot of the berries is great, as well as the scenic one.
